Liza Jonczak, the editor of the Observer’s new Kid’s page, works at Shepherdstown Elementary teaching first grade. She wanted to write for the Observer Kids because she likes to read the Observer, and she thought it would be fun to write with the kids. Liza also thought it would get kids more into reading the newspaper.

She grew up in Weirton, WV. For college, she moved to Fairmont, WV, and she got her Master’s Degree right here in Shepherdstown. Ms. Jonczak, as her students call her, loves teaching. She likes to eat pizza, and her birthday is December 28th. She likes the Pittsburgh Steelers because she grew up near there.

We are very excited to work with Ms. Jonczak on this page, and we hope you enjoyed getting to know her.
