| DOMINIC VALENTINE, Advertising Director, brings a background as an adjunct professor of English at Shepherd University and previously as a teacher of high school English and creative writing. He came to Shepherdstown from Baltimore, where he had been working managing an assisted living facility. He was searching for an escape from city life and to more access to the outdoors. He lives on the Potomac River just outside of Shepherdstown.

| DAVID LILLARD, Managing Editor, is a writer and travel/tourism consultant. He works with state and local governments and nonprofit agencies to develop economic strategies based on tourism, including the local Conservation Film Festival. He develops brochures and interpretive materials for recreational facilities and has written travel and hiking guidebooks. Originally from Delaware, Lillard and his wife Lauren Clingan have lived in Shepherdstown since 1995.

| THOMAS HARDING, Publisher, has a rich media background, making documentaries and writing for newspapers, magazines and books. He set up the Oxford Channel television station with his wife in England, ran the very successful Local Television Training company as well as the advertising company Tom, Dick and Debbie Productions. Originally from London, UK, he lives in Shepherdstown with his wife and two kids.

| JOHN and MARY CORCORAN LEHMAN created The Shepherdstown Observer in 2002. In January 2007, the paper was purchased by a trio of local men, Thomas Harding, David Lillard and Dominic Valentine. All three have writing and media backgrounds and share an avid interest in community and green issues. Mary and John now serve on the Editorial Advisory Board for the paper.
